Miele  is a German manufacturer of high-end household and commercial appliances, headquartered in Gütersloh, Ostwestfalen-Lippe. The company was founded in 1899 by Carl Miele and Reinhard Zinkann, and has always been a family-owned and operated company. The Miele brand was established with the founding of the company Miele & Cie on 1 July 1899.

Miele exports its products globally and is present in 47 countries. Their expansion into the United States took place in 1983, when they established their corporate headquarters in Somerset, New Jersey. In 1999, they moved to a new headquarters in Princeton, which was designed by Driehaus Prize winner Michael Graves. Most of their products are manufactured in Germany or Switzerland, Austria, the Czech Republic and Romania, and they have 10 showrooms in the United States.

Miele manufactures household appliances including laundry equipment; vacuum cleaners; dishwashers; rotary irons; convection, steam and integrated speed ovens; induction cookers; range hoods; refrigerators, freezers; coolers; wine coolers; and coffee makers. The company also manufactures commercial laundry equipment including wet cleaning machines, laboratory glassware washers, dental sterilizers and medical device washers.

In 2007, Miele was awarded the most successful company in Germany that year, beating the previous year's winner Google, which came in second, and Porsche. The ranking for this Best Brand award was the result of market research that included key criteria such as success in the current economic market as well as the brand's recognition and popularity among consumers. Miele was recognised as the Best Company and also achieved a top 5 position in the Best Product Brand category. Miele was named the Best Home Appliance Brand in the UK by Which? in 2007 and again in 2008, being one of only two brands to win twice in a row. They won again in 2010.

Miele's German slogan is immer besser , which literally translates to “always better” but can also mean “ever better”.
